Ad Tracking Resources
Ad Tracking is the process for counting how many people respond (usually
click) on an Ad (Ad Tracking Definition).
Ad Tracking can be implemented on your own site (recommended) using an ASP,
CGI or PHP script) - or can be implemented through somebody else's server
("Remotely Hosted").
We think it is generally better to use your own site for Ad Tracking,
because:
- Most Remotely Hosted services charge you a monthly fees, whereas if you
implement Ad Tracking on your own server, you usually pay once for the script
and can then use it forever at no additional cost.
- If you use a Remotely Hosted service, and they go out of business or
you decide to terminate your account, any existing links that you have to
their trackers, will no longer direct to their intended destination. This
is a hassle for your own web site (which you'll have to update), but worse
yet, you might have links on other sites, in eBooks, etc., that you simply
can not update.
The Ad Trackers we have listed are divided into categories based on how
they are implemented. If you use an ASP, CGI or PHP Ad Tracker, you will of
course need a web host
that supports the facilities needed to install the particular script that you
choose.
Please select from the following categories of Ad Trackers:
