Opt-In: DefinitionOpt-In Email (also known as "permission-based") is email that the recipients have agreed to receive (for example, by choosing to subscribe to an email newsletter).The opposite of Opt-In is: When commercial emails are sent to people who have not opted-into receiving such emails, they are said to be "unsolicited". Most people would consider any such unsolicited emails to be ".spam". This site, of course, only advocates sending opt-in email. Our company does not send, and is opposed to sending spam. That said, if you decide to market use opt-in email, then you will also need to decide on what type of opt-in process you feel appropriate with. The choices are:
