Autoresponder: Definition
Ad Tracking is the process for counting how many people respond (usually
click) on an Ad.
The way they generally work is:
- You use the Ad Tracker to set up special links, each containing a different ID or Code.
For each of these special links, a destination URL is given.
- Whenever a user clicks on one of your special links, the Ad Tracker counts
a click, and then automatically sends the user to the destination URL.
Using an Ad Tracker is a good idea, because:
- It can tell you whether each of your advertising campaigns is generating
results, and how much results.
- If you are advertising affiliate links, it helps conceal your affiliate ID
from those who would "steal" your commissions by substituting their
own affiliate ID (however, for better protection, you might want to look at
products like
Affiliate Protection Rocket).
